Organelles
Organelles are the small structures inside cells that provide structure and function. Organelles to cells are like organs to you. Just inside the cell membrane is the cytoplasm, which houses all the organelles. We are currently studying all of the organelles that make up Eukaryotic cells. This page is here to describe the functions, names, and locations of all the organelles of a Eukaryotic cell.

Peroxisomes
|
Peroxisomes contain enzymes that work by transferring hydrogen from a substrate to oxygen by producing hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is toxic to the cell, but peroxisomes also contain an enzyme that is capable of converting hydrogen peroxide to water. Peroxisomes are found in the cytoplasm.
